Instructional Techniques in Phoneme Awareness,
Reading, and Spelling
Reserve Tuesday evenings from
September 10 - November 11 from 6 - 9 pm for
Dr. Susan Clark, Longview college faculty emerita. Closely following the
course text,
Phoneme Sequencing Program for Reading, Spelling, and Speech, 3rd Ed.,
by Patricia
and Phyllis Lindamood, participants will learn to implement phoneme
awareness
techniques presented in the text. Three graduate
credit hours are offered through
Baker University at an additional fee of $150.00. Location: Lee's

Introduction to Multi-sensory Phonics
Two-week course and practicum to
be held July 28-August 1 and August 4-8 (2008)
in the
Orton-Gillingham
approach to teaching reading, writing, and spelling.
The course will be held at Lee's Summit West High School in Lee's Summit,
Missouri.
Subscriber-level certification through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham is
available for course participants. Other certification
through the Academy
of Orton Gillingham may be available
to participants who have other prior
training and practicum hours
under the supervision of a Fellow in the Academy.
Additionally,
three hours of graduate credit through Baker University
are offered for an additional fee of $160.00.

private schools who wish mentoring for professional
staff members in using multi-sensory teaching approaches in their
classrooms
may contact us anytime. Classroom and building level training
is available in
multi-sensory reading instructional approaches. Teachers who attend our
classes
are always welcome to call with questions about working with students using
multi-sensory techniques.
